Flattops & Floating Fortresses

A Familiar But Totally New Naval Wargame!

Lexington under heavy fire.

For those who have played Axis & Allies War & Sea, these rules may feel familiar, but there are many improvements and distinctions from the classic game including:

  • d10 based game
  • Over the horizon rules for hidden movement & reconnaissance make aircraft carrier battles very interesting.
  • Situational bonuses derived from cards called military decorations which admirals award to combatants
  • Use models from any manufacturer … or print your own!
  • Rules for weather, terrain placement, refueling and more.

Rather than Armor and Vital Armor, combatants have Armor and Integrity. Armor and Integrity can be worn down by Damage cards that sometimes explode into Criticals that can knock-out weapon systems, engines, armor, etc.

Your purchase includes:

  • 70 page PDF stuffed with art, tips & rules
  • Deck of critical hits, to add real excitement to your game
  • Deck of fun situational bonuses called Decorations
  • Deck of Capabilities for unique bonuses to ships and air missions

Consider adding a Phase Deck to keep track of the turn. Includes handy fire-resolution references.

You can get started right away with your existing collection of models and even use your old War at Sea cards. But soon enough you’ll want to pick up our exciting scenario packs that contain all cards for pivotal and interesting battles:

  • Battle of Coral Sea (available as a pre-release)
  • Battle of Matapan (coming soon)
  • Battle of North Cape (coming soon)
